The rundown
GoldenEye sits on 52 acres of Oracabessa Bay on Jamaica's north coast, once the home where Ian Fleming wrote all 14 James Bond novels and now owned by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell. Guests stay in beach and lagoon villas, lagoon cottages with their own dock and kayak, and stilted beach huts, alongside Fleming's original villa. Days run between Low Cay Beach, snorkeling coves and the lagoon, with a spa in open-air treatment huts, the Gazebo for dinner over the water and jerk at the Bamboo Bar on Button Beach.
