The rundown
ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising is the course that qualifies you to charter a sailboat without a skipper. South Portland Sailing Center runs it as a four-day, three-night liveaboard aboard a Sigma 36, exploring Casco Bay and beyond as the weather allows. It covers advanced coastal navigation, provisioning and boat systems, overnight anchoring, watchkeeping and seamanship for longer passages, with island stops and sunsets along the way.
